NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Contraceptive pregnancy drug company Pfizer announced last Wednesday the nationwide recall of Brand Lo/Ovral-28 tablets used by women to supplement the prevention of pregnancy. The Pfizer press release states that “some packages of the oral contraceptive may contain the incorrect amount of active-ingredient tablets and the tablets in the packages may be out of sequence.“

Typically, there are 21 white and seven pink birth control pills in a single lot that are systematically ordered in a specific sequence. Packaging the pills in the wrong order can eliminate the effects of the contraceptive and increase the likelihood of pregnancy.

Snow is tough to come by for East Coast winter resorts

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Early December usually means opening day for Mountain Creek, a small winter resort situated in the mountains of northern New Jersey. But with warm weather this year, the resort has had difficult times making snow.

Mountain Creek markets itself as the closest resort to New York City, a short 47 miles. But the 167 skiable acres the mountain has to offer remains mostly absent of snow.

Despite the abnormal temperatures that make blowing snow a challenge, the resort has been trying everything it can to get mountain ready before the holidays.
